
Originally used as a grain store, piggery, turkey coop and cattle barn, Haverstock have sensitively retrofitted the collection of barns into three contemporary homes.
Of masonry cavity construction with a timber roof structure, synonymous with the Suffolk countryside, the existing materials are exposed and celebrated, offering a robust semi-industrial palette to the new homes.

The existing fabric has been enhanced to provide modern levels of comfort with existing walls insulated and underfloor heating installed. The roof has been maliciously removed, insulated and replaced with the original tiles.
Functional proportions are embraced, with double height living spaces leading to generously sized private gardens. A modern mezzanine has been inserted into the front section of the building to provide ensuite bedrooms and family bathrooms.

Elsewhere, black steel staircases and concrete floors hint at the buildings functional past and walls clad in black vertical timber reference the agricultural vernacular.
Situated in just under 4 acres, the conversion embraces the rural setting and allows each home a connection with the ever changing landscape.
Dairy Row is the conversion of an existing barn. Having been used traditionally as a threshing barn then latterly as a general store, piggery, turkey coop and cattle barn, the project has converted the existing agricultural building into three contemporary homes.
